My name is M'Kyla, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in North Carolina. I have graduated from Walden University with my Masters in Social Work. I've also attended East Carolina University, where I've received my bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development/Family Relations. My career thus far has been centered around Children and Families.
I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, phobias, adjustment disorders, and understanding childhood development. I also have a background in providing treatment to adults with substance use disorders. My passion has shaped me towards educating and supporting children and families to meet their goals. In my family background, we have always emphasized the importance of being involved within our community, educating and helping others when, at times, the mental health profession is often undermined. I believe my life's vocational pursuit is in this field, especially starting with younger youth to establish healthy generational patterns. My therapeutic approach is to work together to create a treatment plan that can accommodate your specific needs while incorporating evidence-based interactions that can support your goals. I like to integrate techniques centered around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Meditation, and a Strengths-Based Approach. My goal is to provide the best resources and support that can empower you in meeting your goals. Thus, I can ensure a non-judgmental environment while encouraging strength and independence in taking the next step towards your journey. |

Hello, my name is Delanie and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in the Rehabilitation Counseling MA program in 2023. My undergraduate degree is also from the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks) in Experimental Psychology. I have experience working with various individuals from all backgrounds with an emphasis on advocating for individuals with disabilities and prior experience in trauma counseling. My approach to counseling is cognitive-behavioral, emphasizing collaboration during the counseling process. Identifying irrational beliefs and cognitive distortions promotes growth within a client and allows for redetermining goals encouraging healthy life changes. Additionally, sessions will proceed through a holistic lens with the consideration of multiple areas of an individual’s life to gain the highest understanding of a client’s situation. Through my work, I hope to provide a client with support to promote the client to challenge themselves, reexamine life themes, and ultimately become more fulfilled through their time in therapy. I look forward to starting your therapy journey together!

I am the owner of La Vida Counseling, PLLC. I graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a Masters degree in Counseling in 2009. I am licensed by both the North Carolina board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Supervisor and North Carolina Substance Abuse Professional Practice Board. I am also fluent in Spanish. Having both licenses and being bilingual has allowed me to serve a bigger population and with clients of all ages.
I work with a client-centered approach, which means that I work in collaboration with you. We will work together in developing goals, treatment plans or gathering community resources for you to use that will benefit you. I also use cognitive behavioral approaches during counseling sessions. I believe that how we think affects how we feel and act. By changing our irrational cognitions (thoughts) we eventually are able to feel and act more rationally. This is a slow process which takes much practice in order to rewire your thoughts. It is like learning a new language. The more you practice the better you will be. My goal is to provide a safe place to explore reactions, thoughts, and feelings about people in your life as well as yourself. It allows you the opportunity to practice new ways of interacting and, when ready, to try these in other relationships. |
